ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

Washington Youth Alliance operates through two legally separate entities to effectively advance our mission while maintaining strict compliance with federal tax laws:

WASHINGTON YOUTH ALLIANCE (501(C)(3))

Tax Status: 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization


Fiscal Sponsor: Alliance for Gun Responsibility Foundation

Purpose: Educational programs, youth development, research, and charitable activities

WYA ACTION FUND (501(C)(4))

Tax Status: 501(c)(4) social welfare organization

Purpose: Advocacy, lobbying, and civic engagement activities

Washington Youth Alliance, our 501(c)(3) organization, focuses exclusively on:



• Educational programs and workshops for youth


• Leadership development and training


• Community outreach and education


• Research and policy education


• Nonpartisan civic engagement education

IMPORTANT: Washington Youth Alliance (501(c)(3)) does not engage in partisan political activity and conducts only limited lobbying activities within IRS guidelines. All charitable activities are conducted under the fiscal sponsorship of the Alliance for Gun Responsibility Foundation.

Washington Youth Alliance Action Fund, our 501(c)(4) organization, conducts:


• Legislative advocacy and lobbying


• Issue-based campaigns and grassroots organizing


• Policy advocacy at local, state, and federal levels



• Civic engagement and voter education activities

TAX DEDUCTIBILITY NOTICE: Contributions to Washington Youth Alliance Action Fund (501(c)(4)) are NOT tax-deductible as charitable donations. These funds support our advocacy and lobbying efforts.

DONATION & FUNDING POLICIES

TAX-DEDUCTIBLE CONTRIBUTIONS

Donations made to Washington Youth Alliance (501(c)(3)) through our fiscal sponsor are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. These contributions support our educational and charitable programs.

NON-TAX-DEDUCTIBLE CONTRIBUTIONS

Donations made to Washington Youth Alliance Action Fund (501(c)(4)) are not tax-deductible but are essential for our advocacy work and policy change efforts.

FINANCIAL SEGREGATION

We maintain strict financial separation between our 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) entities:

• Separate bank accounts and financial records


• Independent accounting for each entity



• Clear tracking of all donations and expenditures


• No commingling of funds between entities


• Donor intent is strictly honored

This arrangement allows us to conduct charitable activities while building our organizational capacity. The Alliance for Gun Responsibility Foundation provides fiscal oversight and ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
